The tree reaches a height of 25 m, with a diameter of 50 to 100 cm. The logs are reported to be straight and cylindrical, without buttresses.
A species of terra firme forest, it is found in dry lands or close to the river banks in temporarily inundable areas.
The geographical range for this species is the Amazonian rain forest of Peru. It grows in the Loreto, Ucayali and Madre de Dios area.
Occasionally vessels in dendritic pattern. Vessels exclusively solitary (over 90%). Paratracheal axial parenchyma scanty and/or vasicentric. Rays exclusively uniseriate.

Odor and taste are indistinct.
The sapwood is not clearly differentiated, the heartwood is light reddish brown
Interlocked grain is reported in this species.
This wood has a somewhat medium texture.
It is reported to be moderate in luster.
