The tree reaches a height of 23 m. The bole is straight, cylindrical and unbuttressed, with occasionally swellings on butt. Trunk diameter attains 70 to 80 cm.

Timber of this species is low in luster.
Not durable; important risks of decay attacks at any processing step, from logs up to final products. It must receive preservative treatment. Heartwood is sensible to Lyctus attacks.
