The size of the mature tree is reported to be small to medium, attaining heights over 10 m, and trunk diameters over 20 cm, without buttresses.
Tetrorchidium ochroleucum is found in the tropical forests of Colombia, between 800 to 1,500 m of altitude.
Occasionally vessels in diagonal and/or radial pattern. Vessels exclusively solitary (over 90%). Axial parenchyma absent or extremely rare, non visible with magnifying glass (8x). Apotracheal axial parenchyma diffuse and/or diffuse in aggregates. Rays exclusively uniseriate.

This wood has a pleasant smell.
The sapwood is not clearly differentiated, heartwood is pale yellow.
The grain is mostly straight
The texture varies from medium to coarse.
The wood surfaces tend to be moderately to highly lustrous
