The trees are reported to reach heights of 30 to 40 m, with trunk diameters up to 120 cm. The boles are straight and cylindrical boles, with abundant white latex. Pouteria trees have edible fruits.
This species is reported to be common in the forests of Bolivia. Particularly in the departments of La Paz, Beni, Pando and Santa Cruz.
