Commercial lengths of 10 m, with average diameters from 60 to 70 cm are reported. The logs are straight and cylindrical.
Wood diffuse porous. Vessels solitary and in short radial multiples. Tangential diameter of vessel lumina 100 to 150 micras (small). White deposits in heartwood vessels. Tyloses common. Occasionally vessels per mm2 less than 6. Vessel-ray pits similar to interv Occasionally axial parenchyma confluent. Axial parenchyma in discontinuous tangential lines. Axial parenchyma oblique and/or sinuous. Prismatic crystals in chambered axial parenchyma cells and/or in fibers. 5 to 8 cells per parenchyma strand. 4 to 10 rays per mm (medium). Rays 1 to 4 seriate. Occasionally prismatic crystals in the ray cells. Heterogeneous rays and/or multiseriate heterogeneous rays. Body ray cells procumbent with mostly 2 to 4 rows of upright and/or square marginal cells (Kribs-II Fibers with distinctly bordered pits.

The heartwood and sapwood are distinct. The heartwood is reddish-yellow and sapwood white color.
