Description Of The Tree

Botanical Description

The mature tree is small to medium, attaining heights of 10 to 18 m, and trunk diameters of about 40 to 60 cm.

Natural Habitat

Ferreirea spectabilis is reported in primary forests, growing in a wide range of soils. It is found in semideciduous and in the Atlantic rain forests of Brazil.

Natural Distribution

This species is found in Brazil in the Atlantic rain forest from Bahia to Sao Paulo. It grows also in the Parana basin, and it is found in the states of Minas Gerais, Goias, Sao Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul and Parana.
