Endemic, common in primary forest at low and medium altitudes. Reported in Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Palawan, Mindoro, Panay, Negos, Zamboanga.
Difficult to treat.

Sapwood 2 to 4 cm thick, not so sharply distinguished from the heartwood which is reddish brown
