Description Of The Tree

Botanical Description

It is a medium-sized to large tree of up to 40 m tall. The bole is branchless for up to 25 m, sometimes more, with a diameter of up to 90 cm and prominently buttressed. It produces a good quality dammar resin.

Natural Habitat

Scattered throughout lowland mixed dipterocarp forest, this species is an important source of merawan timber.
